Save Babakan Siliwangi

Babakan Siliwangi is the only forest left in Bandung.
Babakan Siliwangi Declaration as an international city forest (forest city world) as one of the agenda Tunza International Youth Conference On Children and the Environment in 2011.

This was revealed in the celebration and press conference held in Bandung Initiative Block Pamidangan Babakan Siliwangi, Friday (16 / 9) afternoon. Bandung Initiative Program Coordinator Kayong Munggaran Reggi said, with the declaration, the public has to make Babakan Siliwangi legimitasi increasingly open as public space.
"Not only asset the government, corporations, or citizens of West Java alone, but also citizens of the world," he said.
Tunza conference is an international conference attended by a thousand children aged 10-14 years and 15-25 years old youth from all UN member states, and planned to be held every two years.

There's 24 species of birds and 48 kind of trees live in Babakan Siliwangi.
Babakan Siliwangi as lungs for Bandung is able to supply Oxygen for 15.600 people.

Currently the city of Bandung is difficult to have Green open space 30% of the total land area of 16,729 hectares.

But, look what the goverment will do to this priceless place, they will make it as a comercial area and that's mean they will destroy a big part of the forest!
we definitely must do something against their program.

You people have heard about a massive flood in Jakarta at middle of January 2013. The goverment should've learn from that, because making Babakan SIliwangi as comercial area? is BIG mistake!
Babakan Siliwangi as a catchment water area could be gone if they continue to build Mall, Restaurant, and Condominium at the area.

We also support from the International to look into this problem, because Babakan Siliwangi is a World City Forest that's need to protect by all of us!

we need you to sign the petition here
